[...] DD: That’s Kim Opitz, founder of Rribbitz Creative Communications. Her story and Ignite presentation are such a treasure full of lessons for aspiring entrepreneurs. True entrepreneurs do not wait around waiting for the best time to start a business; this is what happened in Kim’s case, she didn’t wait for someone else to change the situation, she stepped ahead and did it. Even though she had plenty of responsibilities on her head, she took a huge leap of faith, knowing if not now, then her entrepreneurial spirit may never be enlightened. The rest is history, today she feels free of the 9 to 5 burden and she is asking you – What are you waiting for?
Thanks Erin - I appreciate it!
Kristin - I agree. It really did take me about 17 years to figure out that loyalty given does not equal loyalty in return.

A loyal employee often doesn’t get loyalty in return and all the other lucrative warm fussies. Those days are gone. Now with the economic implode, people are just lucky they have a job. Or are they?. I believe the ones who have been let go have been given a gift to find something that they really love to do. A chance to re-invent themselves. Be their own boss. Scary as that might be, it can make you feel alive.
I’m sure you’ll be busy talking...freeing people or helping the freed find their way.
